It is your duty to help and heal others, and ever since the start you were there to remind everyone to take care of themselves. Though it's risky and many have fallen, the remaining still push through to fulfill their duties of saving lives. For that, we thank you dear Front liners. Our modern-day heroes in his time of pandemic.

  We are already in the stage where almost everything revolves around the internet. It is quite alarming that varying information and photos can be used or given out like a piece of candy. Before posting anything, one must think of the various outcomes that may or may not happen should he post it. In addition, social media is widely being used as a method to express/rant about problems. One might just post what he is feeling without thinking of the consequences because his emotions were at its peak and will just lead to a bigger problem. Plus, not everything will be solved via internet. Your single click will affect everything but mostly you, yourself if not handed well. Be wise in making certain decisions and actions not only in the web, but also in life. Before you click, you must think. A reminder to all of us navigating the web.

It brought fear. It brought a lot of negativity. Despite the gloomy mood it brings, there arose a light in the darkness opening windows of opportunities.  This pandemic lingering around us truly brings fear as it puts people's lives at risk. Due to it numbers of establishments had to close down and cut down the number of employees as the economy declined. It started off to a gloomy start but it helped each and every one realize things during the quarantine.  The sudden end of the previous school year last March was a shocking news. I felt quite saddened after hearing it. As time flew by though, I realized that now that I have a lot of time to kill, why not start practicing skills that I have never done before. Do things that wanted to do long ago but lacked time.  During the quarantine period, I learned about myself more. For fourth and last time.  Throughout the whole school year,  I have learnt a lot of new things self discovery was made. Minimal to no hurdles were faced for the last time. I overcame those by trusting and believing in myself and asking others for help, suggestions, and opinions. It was nice to do some stuff using Photoshop once again and it was great that I still remember some about it since we've learnt about it in eighth grade. My last year of junior high school. Fast forward. Finding a stable job. Earning for dream house and dream car. As a junior high school completer, I should already be envisioning myself as my profession for the future years. The earlier descriptions are the things that I might be doing after college graduation. After how many years of studying and reviewing, me doing what I like will be the fruit of it all. Being successful in life is my dream, together with my family since they are my inspiration.  I'd rather be focused more on my work. Other things have their own time like having relationships. Analyzing the components of substances are much more fun in my opinion. Chemistry is my favorite branch of Science after all.  It's still a bit confusing as to what profession I would really like to do in the future. Foundation. Every relationship and organizations started from something small yet sturdy. Nearing the end of every school year, Ilocos Sur National High School celebrates High School Day. This celebration emphasizes on the year the institution was founded. When referring to the school's history, it was just a single building until it moved location and the campus expanded having more buildings and classrooms. The highlight of this is the presentation of each year level with boys and girls separated that have various themes and dance genres to show. But before the presentation, all sections of every grade level will have to parade around Vigan City (but not entirely) and go back to campus. Culture and heritage. Kannawidan is an Ilocano term which means feast of heritage and culture. This year marks the 202nd foundation of the province that separated from Ilocos Norte by a Royal Decree on February 2,1818. Kannawidan is an annual celebration of the province of Ilocos Sur. This festival of Ilocanos aims to restore the habit they have and showcase their inheritance from preceding generations. Kannawidan is derived from the Ilocano term "tawid" meaning inheritance. Just like in the previously held Vigan City Fiesta, there is also a food and trade fair located at Tamag grounds and the products are more diverse since it features different goods coming from the 22 towns of Ilocos Sur. "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." -Leo Tolstoy The world has already changed and still, it continues to change. A lot of people wish to change the world yet they don't think of changing themselves first. Issues and concerns are increasing in number. People would comment about helping in fixing the world bu their words are empty. They keep on saying things as I may quote, "Change is needed", "The world needs change". If we look behind those words, is it that they are trying to transform it even if they haven't changed themselves first? Change should start within. Fun, promotion, and art. Celebrating the day a new city came into place. At the start of the year there is already a celebration that is happening which is Vigan City Longganisa Festival. In this week-long celebration, it is not just about promoting the One Town One Product (OTOP) of the city but it is also about commending the day Vigan became a city. So basically, it is a two in one celebration. During this occasion, all schools train hard for how many days to compete in one of the festival's highlights which is the Street Dancing Competition and Showdown. On the day of the festival, classes are suspended. Additional highlight is the Education Day. For the fun part, there is a carnival and food fairs seated just at the west side of the city proper with so many rides to try. Parades also happen almost everyday when January 25th is nearing. A person making his New Year's Resolution Resolutions are not just for every new year that comes. Instead, it is for a lifetime. It is not new to ask each other about one's New Year's Resolutions whenever we are nearing the end of a year. We make lists of whatever we want to change among ourselves yet we fail to complete or do it for the rest of our lives. It is like we just did it for the sake of the new year. When I was young, I always had a bizarre list of my New Year's resolution ideas but it always ends up  at the rubbish bin. My mindset then was that I should complete it by the end of the year only to find out I cannot do it for the rest of the year so how much more if I'll do it for  the rest of my life. Nearing the end of my last year in junior high school. Only half of the second semester left. But even so, new things are being taught to us. There were a few difficulties that I have faced especially about making the web design. I was pressured on finishing it but I overcame it. I just needed to believe in myself and with a few help from my classmates, I finished it. Hopefully for the last part of the year, it will end great. Gift giving. Caroling. Ornaments. An occasion celebrated annually. Christmas it's called but what is its essence? Every year, we celebrate Christmas with our loved ones. During this time of the year, we get to hear people caroling outside our houses, listen to different Christmas songs where ever we may go, see decorations of all sorts, smell the dishes that are being cooked, and many more that we typically. All those gifts, whether monetary or not, those dishes, decorations, are they all important? Does Christmas only revolve around those things?  Christmas does not only mean receiving presents or eating ham, it is the season of giving. Not giving material gifts but spreading love to everyone. All of us are aware that violence against women and their children is one of the most pressing issues around the world. It is not new to the public to frequently hear news about women and children getting physically, mentally, emotionally, and even sexually abused. Awareness. People should be aware of their surroundings fro them to know what is happening around them.  Our environment is in real chaos these days. In connection to this, we have the Environmental Awareness Month that also happens in the month of November. This celebration is made possible by the virtue of Republic Act No. 9512 which was signed on December 12, 2008. This law states that the promotion of national awareness on the role of natural resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental conservation shall be done through environmental education. With this matter at hand, it is just right for us to engage in the said activity for we were born not just to help fellow humans but also the other living creatures that are with us. Children.  The month of November is the celebration of National Children's Month by the virtue of Republic Act No. 10661 which was signed on May 29, 2015 by then President Benigno Aquino III. As according to what I've read, this celebration commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of a Child by the United Nations General Assembly on Nov. 20, 1989. From the name, we can already tell that the main focus of this event is on children. Children are affected in a lot of ways. Whether it is physically, emotionally, and/or socially, it affects them real hard. That's why this celebration is here, to protect the children and promote their rights. Flags of Different Countries Across the Globe Peace makes the world go round. Peace is what each country seeks for. But more than that is given.  Peace is not the only thing that U.N. aims for, a lot more is being offered to millions of people.  Celebrating its 74 years of existence is the United Nations Day. Simultaneously, the school becomes one with the world in celebrating it every month of October with its highlight, the Search for Mr. and Ms. United Nations.  "Indigenous Languages Matter for Sustainable Development, Peace Building, and Reconciliation" is the theme for this year. The word peace is there and it goes to show that peace is what the United Nations Organization aim for, specifically world peace. Additional information. Another quarter has passed. New lessons were learnt. New challenges were faced. This time around, I have got to know new things that I haven't heard or read before. At first, I was agitated whether or not I would be able to cope up with the new lessons ahead. Many things were gained from the activities that were done including lessons. There were minimal to no problems that I have faced for the topics are quite easy to understand. I just had to figure things out by myself and the problem's solved. First semester has already gone to an end with the exams approaching. Hopefully the lessons learnt will still be remembered by then and I'm expecting more interesting topics to come. Hero without a cape. Sans speed, sans flight, sans teleportation. Hero in their own ways. They may not have supernatural powers, they still have ability to help others in their daily lives. Never ending lessons to be taught. May it be about the course or about one's experience that others can have insights about. Laptop, chalk and eraser, lesson plans. A teacher's best friend. Students go to schools to learn things. Teachers prepare and review their topics to be discussed. They talk all throughout the day, walk to each classroom, check papers, and discipline students. Considered as daily routine. They may look easy going and carefree sometime but the truth is they have a lot of work to be done. Academics.   Homework.   Activities. First thing that comes to mind when thinking about school is about the work students do in their academics. Having high scores in activities and tests make them happy. But is that the only way they can be happy? A school year is not complete without the yearly held Intramurals. Wherein students join and compete in different fields of sports according to their expertise. Sports and dancing can also make one happy. Relieving themselves from their problems for a period of time just to enjoy doing what they love to do especially if you’re a sporty type of person. “Enhancing Happy School Movement through Sports and Dances.” That is the said theme for the ISNHS Intramurals 2019.
