Prize of Voicing Out

Liberty… Expression… Thoughts… Voices…

Long ago, we were colonized by foreigners. This event led them to influence our ancestors thus, placing them under their authority. Since they were the ones in charge, it’s likely that they were holding our people by their necks. Threatening to kill them if they were to voice out any of their oppositions. Going mute, not being able to fight for their rights and having no independence are just a few results of it.

At first, maybe these foreigners were wearing masks to hide their true facade and their malicious intentions. Later on, those masks fell therefore revealing their genuine nature. They became abusive and even called us frivolous people. Our heroes got sick and tired of being treated like trash hence, they decided to oppose foreigners by expressing their thoughts either orally or written and through their actions.

Since starting a revolution, our national heroes have been fighting non-stop for the freedom of our own country and people. We did not gain back our independency until the 12th day of June year 1898. That is why we must not waste all of the hardships, sacrifices, and sufferings that our fellow countrymen have made and have gone through. However, we must not surpass the boundaries for it will do us no good.

Being kept out of the loop is quite frustrating, especially when you are not able to share your opinions nor insights about something. But then again, having liberty and abusing it by just saying anything you want is just as unfair as going mute. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray did say that everything must be in moderation.
