Expectation vs. Reality



Unexpected arrival.
            
Occurrences like this just happen so sudden. We would not know when it will strike once again for we cannot foresee when or where it will happen. There is no gadget nor device that can help. That’s why the NDRRMC resorted to a solution that can aid everyone to be prepared.
           
Image result for earthquakeEvery year, the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is being held in every school nationwide. Through this event, students would know what to do in case of a sudden trembling in the earth’s core will happen. Duck, cover, and hold they always say. Form a single file, no panicking, they add.
            
Not only the students benefit from this but others as well. Everyone will know the things to do in order to be prepared. Even those done before, during, and after the quake are always being reminded of.
            
The said activity is quite good though the flow of events might be different. It is because when the time will come for this disastrous occurrence to happen, it will catch us off guard. People will be panicking and maybe it will form a stampede when they get out of the buildings.

A lot of people wish to change the world yet they don't think of changing themselves first. Issues and concerns are increasing in number. People would comment about helping in fixing the world bu their words are empty. They keep on saying things as I may quote, "Change is needed", "The world needs change". If we look behind those words, is it that they are trying to transform it even if they haven't changed themselves first? Change should start within. Before, I was also a part of the group who always goes on and on about change being a must. But now, I realized that, that thinking I had was immature for requesting the having of change without changing yourself is quite ironic if you ask me. Heritage From the Past

Culture and heritage. Kannawidan is an Ilocano term which means feast of heritage and culture. This year marks the 202nd foundation of the province that separated from Ilocos Norte by a Royal Decree on February 2,1818. Kannawidan is an annual celebration of the province of Ilocos Sur. This festival of Ilocanos aims to restore the habit they have and showcase their inheritance from preceding generations. Kannawidan is derived from the Ilocano term "tawid" meaning inheritance. Just like in the previously held Vigan City Fiesta, there is also a food and trade fair located at Tamag grounds and the products are more diverse since it features different goods coming from the 22 towns of Ilocos Sur. There are also rides that people will enjoy. Additionally, Kannawidan is much more let's say extravagant in a way since artists come to the province and Ilocano fans have a chance to meet them up close.
